Marquette Transportation

Marquette Transportation (“Marquette”), headquartered in Paducah, Kentucky, provides marine transportation services to the U.S. Inland Waterway System (Mississippi River System and related tributaries), Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and the domestic coastwise market (near-shore and offshore).  Marquette is one of the nation’s largest Jones Act marine transportation companies, operating 124 boats (tow, tug and fleet) and a fleet of approximately 760 dry cargo barges.  The Company’s River Division, provides dry cargo towing services on the Mississippi River System for a variety of agricultural companies, energy companies and barge transportation companies. In addition, the River Division includes a fleet of dry cargo barges, which are primarily chartered or managed by Marquette’s towing customers.  The Gulf-Inland Division provides towing services for customers moving liquid and dry cargos on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, transporting black oil, petrochemicals, refined petroleum, grain and aggregates.  The Offshore Division provides near-shore and offshore tug and towing services for construction companies, dredging operators, salvage companies and oilfield services companies, including damaged platform recovery work, anchor handling and dive support work primarily in the Gulf of Mexico.
