Firm Overview

Our History

KRG Capital Partners (“KRG”), founded in 1996, is a Denver, Colorado-based private equity firm focused on investing in growing and innovative “best-in-class” middle market companies. Since inception, the Firm began executing on its “buy and build” investment strategy and at that time raised debt and equity on a deal-by-deal basis for individual companies (the “Pre-Fund” era). The success of this initial strategy led KRG to launch a more traditional pooled fund vehicle, raising its first institutional Fund I in 1999.  Over its history, KRG led the deployment of over $4.0 billion of equity in over 200 transactions, including approximately $1.2 billion of equity from closely aligned co-investors.

Our Plan

KRG seeks control investments in niche-oriented companies where we can partner with existing entrepreneurs and management teams to build industry leading businesses through a combination of continued internal growth and selective strategic add-on acquisitions.

Our Culture

KRG’s way of doing business is guided by a methodology that includes

  • The Firm’s macro “top-down” industry sector investment approach
  • A “customer-focused” growth strategy, with acquisitions being a fundamental component
  • Hands-on involvement and partnership with management in developing portfolio companies post-investment, including our ability to effect strategic, operational and organizational improvements
  • An outstanding reputation for fairness, partnering and transparency with sellers, management teams and their investment advisors
  • Creating a “win/win” incentive structure that closely aligns ongoing senior management with KRG
  • Thorough and efficient transaction execution, combined with a balanced approach in negotiations which provides “certainty to close”

KRG believes these characteristics differentiate us from other private equity groups and often times can be decisive factors for entrepreneurs and management teams considering a new partner.
